Team Development


Away days are always a good idea and easily made fun for participants but how often do they actually deliver tangible changes back in the workplace?

The current climate demands more of employees than ever before, organisations are looking to teams to deliver far more than the sum of their individual talents. However as a result of constant change, restructures, mergers, acquisitions or redundancies many teams are left feeling fragmented, uncertain and most certainly not performing as a single business function.

As business leaders we are all too aware of the importance of high performing teams but the commercial demands dictate no time for employees to reflect on changes, to foster working relationships beyond function or even to absorb the wider context of what has happened.

There is no higher priority for leadership than to create space for teams to explore these issues and ultimately take ownership for their part. Unfortunately the teambuilding industry has been flooded with ‘activity’ companies promising such things such that ‘teambuilding’ has become synonymous with quad biking, archery, outdoor pursuits. These activities often promise organisational impact but in reality deliver nothing more than a motivational reward experience.

HOW DO WE WORK?


Our starting point is driven by what outcomes you are looking for. We will work with the key stakeholders in your organisation to identify the behaviour changes needed and the conversations that need to be had over the event.

We will then create a balance between three critical factors:

TRAINING - All events and training days must have an element of learning and development. We use a Blended learning approach which creates high levels of retention and application.  Through the training side of our business we can bring an extensive choice of training options into the day.

ACTIVITIES - Activities are opportunities for teams to work together in a more informal way experiencing differing ways of working together. These are mostly team based challenges concentrating on specific learning points. There are designed with ability and personality in mind to develop aspects such as, communication, problem solving, motivation, teamwork, leadership

LOCATION - Often overlooked is the impact of location. This is something we must work carefully with you to discuss what will suit the team, the outcomes and budget constraints. Considerations include running the event onsite, using venue such as hotel, something more unusual like stately home or whether to have it as a residential event. Each have their strengths and drawbacks and must be carefully considered when designing an event.

how much will it cost?


We know how important your investment is to you so our commitment is we won’t shy away from talking about costs. Events will range enormously in price depending on location, design, materials and participant numbers – to help you we will be completely transparent and upfront with our costs and expect the same with regard to your expectations and budget. This allows us to be fully flexible to meet your needs.

Our commitment is not to profit from your direct costs. Our expectation is to be paid for our training time and we will not look to make money from the other expenses of the day such as venue, use of equipment etc. This means total transparency from us over costs and puts you in control of the total investment for the event.
